Caribbean Power Yachts

Speed & Style Across Turquoise Waters

A crewed motor yacht charter is the fastest and most comfortable way to see several Caribbean islands in one trip. Motor yachts cover distances quickly, offer spacious interiors and sun decks, and come with a professional crew dedicated to your group. We arrange crewed motor yacht charters from 50 ft to 446 ft, from intimate cruisers to full-scale superyachts.

Why charter a motor yacht in the Caribbean

  • Speed and range: visit more islands in a week, or reach remote anchorages that are too far for a relaxed sailing day.
  • Space and luxury: large salons, multiple decks, Jacuzzis on many yachts, and service closer to a five-star hotel.
  • Toys and tenders: fast tenders, jet skis, seabobs, e-foils and dive gear are common aboard larger motor yachts.
  • Flexibility: motor yachts are less dependent on wind, so plans can change easily with the weather or your mood.

Top cruising areas for motor yachts

Motor yachts are popular in the British Virgin Islands, St. Martin and St. Barts, Antigua and the Leeward Islands, the Grenadines and Puerto Rico and the Spanish Virgin Islands. A classic motor yacht week links St. Martin, St. Barts and Anguilla, or explores the BVI from Tortola to Anegada. For a longer passage, the Grenadines offer some of the most beautiful water in the Caribbean.

How much does a motor yacht charter cost?

Rates vary widely with size, age and season. As a guide, crewed motor yachts of around 75 to 90 ft generally start from about $60,000 to $100,000 per week, yachts over 100 ft often run well above $100,000 per week, and large superyachts can exceed $300,000 per week. Most motor yachts are chartered on a plus-expenses basis, which means fuel, food, drinks and dockage are paid from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) on top of the base rate, plus any local taxes and a crew gratuity. Your broker will explain the full cost before you commit.

Choosing the right motor yacht

  • Size and cabins: balance guest numbers, cabin layout and the size of the deck spaces you will actually use.
  • Crew and chef: the crew defines the experience, so we share crew profiles and sample menus.
  • Itinerary and fuel: longer passages mean more fuel, so we plan routes that match your budget.
  • Toys: confirm tenders, jet skis and dive equipment if they are a priority.

Caribbean motor yacht charter FAQs

What is APA on a motor yacht charter?

APA stands for Advance Provisioning Allowance. It is an amount paid in advance, often 25 to 35 percent of the charter fee, which the captain uses for fuel, food, drinks, dockage and other running costs. Any unused balance is returned at the end of the charter.

How many guests can a motor yacht take?

Most charter motor yachts accommodate up to 12 overnight guests, which is a common limit for commercial yachts. Larger superyachts may host more for day events.

Can I charter a motor yacht for less than a week?

Yes. Many motor yachts accept shorter charters of three to five nights, especially outside peak holiday weeks. Availability depends on the yacht and the season.

When is the best time for a Caribbean motor yacht charter?

December through April offers the most reliable weather and the full Caribbean fleet. Christmas, New Year and St. Barts in late December are the busiest and most expensive weeks.
