Caribbean Catamarans
Spacious Sailing for Family & Friends
A crewed catamaran is the most popular way to charter a yacht in the Caribbean, and for good reason. Two hulls give you a stable, level ride, more deck and living space than a monohull of the same length, and a shallow draft that lets you anchor close to the beach. Our brokers arrange crewed catamaran charters from 38 ft to 113 ft, each with a professional captain and, on most yachts, a dedicated chef.
Why choose a catamaran for your Caribbean charter
- Space for families and groups: most charter catamarans have four to six private cabins, each usually with its own bathroom.
- Comfort at anchor and under way: catamarans heel very little, which matters for guests prone to seasickness and for young children.
- Easy access to the water: wide swim platforms and a large trampoline at the bow make swimming, snorkeling and paddleboarding easy.
- Shallow draft: you can reach anchorages, reefs and beaches that deeper boats have to skip.
Where to charter a catamaran in the Caribbean
The calm, closely spaced islands of the British Virgin Islands, St. Martin and St. Barts, Antigua and the Leeward Islands, the Grenadines and Puerto Rico and the Spanish Virgin Islands are all ideal for catamarans. Distances between anchorages are short, so you spend more time swimming and exploring and less time sailing. Your broker will suggest the best cruising area for your dates, group and interests.
What a crewed catamaran charter includes
Most crewed catamarans in the Caribbean are offered on an all-inclusive or near all-inclusive basis. The weekly rate typically covers the yacht, captain and chef, meals, a standard bar, fuel and water toys such as paddleboards, kayaks and snorkeling gear. Some yachts also carry dive equipment and an instructor. Dockage, cruising permits, gratuities and premium wines are often extra, and every yacht is a little different, so we confirm exactly what is included before you book.
How much does a crewed catamaran charter cost?
Rates depend on the size and age of the catamaran, the number of guests and the season. As a guide, a four-cabin crewed catamaran of around 45 to 50 ft generally starts from about $20,000 to $35,000 per week, while large luxury catamarans of 70 ft and above can exceed $90,000 per week. Peak season, from mid-December through April, books up early, and holiday weeks around Christmas and New Year carry premium rates.
How to choose the right catamaran
- Cabins and layout: match the number of private cabins to your group, and check whether all cabins have their own bathroom.
- Crew: the captain and chef make the trip. We share crew profiles, sample menus and past guest feedback.
- Toys and extras: confirm diving, fishing, wakeboarding or e-foils if they matter to you.
- Itinerary: tell us whether you want lively beach bars or quiet, remote anchorages.
Why book with Caribbean Yacht Charters
We are an independent charter broker, part of Sneed Tropical Yacht Charters, which has arranged crewed yacht charters since 1990. Because we are not tied to any one fleet, we can compare catamarans across the Caribbean and recommend the right yacht and crew for your group at no extra cost to you. Learn more about us.

Caribbean catamaran charter FAQs
How many people can stay on a crewed catamaran?
Most crewed charter catamarans accommodate six to twelve guests in three to six cabins. Larger catamarans can host more, and local rules can limit overnight guest numbers, so we confirm capacity for your itinerary.
Are crewed catamaran charters all-inclusive?
Many Caribbean crewed catamarans are offered all-inclusive, covering the crew, meals, a standard bar, fuel and water toys. Gratuities, dockage, cruising permits and premium drinks may be extra. We confirm the terms for each yacht before you book.
What is the best time to charter a catamaran in the Caribbean?
December through April is the most popular season, with steady trade winds and dry weather. May and June offer good weather and better availability. Hurricane season runs from June through November, and many yachts move or reduce their schedules in late summer and early autumn.
Do I need sailing experience?
No. A crewed catamaran comes with a professional captain and crew who handle all sailing and navigation, so you can relax or join in as much as you like.
How far in advance should I book?
For peak season and holiday weeks, booking six to twelve months ahead gives you the widest choice. Shorter notice is sometimes possible, especially outside peak season.
